The first and the last room of the day

The bathroom, taken seriously.

Every CARLO Design bathroom is drawn for the way you actually use it, the morning routine, the long evening soak, the quiet moments between everything else. We do not adapt off-the-shelf vanities to ill-fitting walls. Each bathroom is dimensioned, drawn and built from scratch.

Working with our long-standing tilers, stonemasons and metalworkers in Mallorca and Berlin, we specify natural stone, hand-glazed tile, brushed brass and oil-finished wood, materials that get more beautiful with age and use, rather than wearing out.

What makes a CARLO Design bathroom

Six pillars of
a custom bathroom.

Commission a bathroom from CARLO Design and you get one drawn for the way you actually use it, fabricated by hand, and installed by people who know the rhythm of a Mallorquin house.

  • i.

    Drawn from scratch

Every wall, every vanity, every shower zone dimensioned to your space. No off-the-shelf solutions adapted to ill-fitting walls.

  • ii.

    Built by hand on Mallorca

Fabricated by tilers, stonemasons and metalworkers we have worked with for years. No flat-pack shipments, no third-party fabricators we have never met.

  • iii.

    Mediterranean material palette

Marès stone, marble basins, hand-glazed Mallorquin tile, brushed brass that patinas naturally, materials that survive water and age beautifully in Mediterranean light.

  • iv.

    Integrated lighting

Lighting designed into the bathroom, not added afterwards. Task light at the mirror, warm glow above the tub, ambient light for everywhere else.

  • v.

    Fixtures chosen, not pushed

Vola, Dornbracht, Boffi, Antonio Lupi, we specify based on your design. Sourced through certified dealers.

  • vi.

    One team end to end

Plumbing, electrics, waterproofing, tiling, stone, ventilation, all coordinated by us. You speak with one team, not five.

The process

From first sketch to first morning.

Four phases, four to seven months, one continuous conversation, how a CARLO Design bathroom comes together.

i.

Concept

Site visit, measuring, conversation about how you use the space. Initial layout drawings, mood boards, three material directions to choose from. 3 to 4 weeks.

ii.

Detail design

Each wall elevation drawn 1:20, every fixture detailed, every tile specified. Material samples physically delivered to you. Binding cost frame issued. 2 to 4 weeks.

iii.

Fabrication

Tiling, stone work, plumbing, joinery, coordinated on site on Mallorca and Berlin. Quality control visits weekly. 6 to 12 weeks.

Arabic Loft

A Mediterranean bathroom.

A walk-in shower beneath an arch of Marès stone, brass fittings and a built-in bench in warm sand tones, a bathroom that feels as if it has always been part of the building, but works for daily use in 2026.

FAQ

Common questions.

A bespoke bathroom typically takes 3 to 6 months from first sketch to handover, 4 to 8 weeks for design and material selection, 6 to 12 weeks for trade coordination, and one to three weeks of on-site installation. Master bathrooms with natural stone surfaces can run longer.
Yes. We coordinate all trades, plumbing, electrics, tiling, waterproofing, ventilation, underfloor heating, and handle the on-site project management. You speak with one team, not five.
Most of our private bathroom projects on Mallorca range from €25,000 to €90,000 and above, depending on size, materials, fixtures and the complexity of the layout. Master bathrooms with natural stone run higher. We provide a binding cost frame after the initial concept phase, before you commit to anything.
Yes, most of our clients commission the bathroom as part of a broader interior project. The bathroom carries the same material language, the same hardware, the same lighting philosophy as the rest of the home.
Yes. We specify fixtures and sanitary ware based on what fits the design and the client's preferences, German engineering, Italian craftsmanship, Danish minimalism. We source through certified dealers and handle warranty registration.
Both. We have studios in Palma and Berlin and design bathrooms for clients in both cities, and beyond. Most of our bathroom images on this page come from projects across our two studios.

Bathrooms that shape Mallorquin homes.

Every bathroom we design on the island begins at the drawing board with Charlotte and her team in Palma. Each project is built around the proportions of your house and the materials your home can carry, limestone, tadelakt, hand-glazed tile, brushed brass.

We work with local stonecutters, ceramicists, plasterers and trades we have built relationships with over years. Every bathroom is led by one of our directors and visited on site during construction.
